The Government adopted 16 measures for improvement of the structural funds absorption (26-03-2008)

On its meeting on 26.03.2008 the Council of Ministers approved an Action plan for undertaking corrective measure in the process of implementation of the EU pre-accession programmes and Structural instruments. The purpose is to implement explicit measures to overcome the identified weaknesses in the implementation of the pre-accession programmes, which could multiply with the projects co-financed under EU Structural and Cohesion funds.

The measures are related to strengthening the ex-ante control in the implementation of the projects and programmes and the following control and audit, strengthening the administrative capacity, reducing the burden and improving the rules and procedures for implementation of European programmes and projects. Their impelementation will guarantee the further improvement of the system for effective management of the EU funds.
