   European practices in processing and preservation of vegetables

  The project “European practices in processing and preservation of vegetables” is financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013, Leonardo da Vinci, measure Mobility.

  The goal of the current project is to send a group of 18 young unemployed workers on a three-month vocational training placement in the field of refrigeration, chilling, preservation and marketing of vegetables in compliance with European standards, in particular ISO 22 000:2005.

  The project beneficiaries shall be from Plovdiv region with completed secondary or specialized secondary education and registered as unemployed in the Employment agencies – Plovdiv region. These are people who need acquisition of new skills and qualifications with the purpose of facilitating their professional development and improving their suitability for employment.

  As a consequence of the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union, the country has been undergoing changes related to unification of production requirements and standards for different industrial sectors. The enterprises from the food processing sector need staff familiar with the EU requirements concerning the production and processing of foods. In this respect, the current project proposal is addressed to beneficiaries who have experience in the food-processing sector or have graduated the Professional Vocational School of Food, Wine ŕnd Tobacco Industries, Plovdiv and want to be trained and subsequently find job in enterprises from the sector related to processing and preservation of vegetables.
